About Solarium
Greetings! We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on.
The Foundation
Solarium Foundation is a Missouri-based nonprofit dedicated to building hyper-local community support systems that connect students, businesses, and organizations in a shared mission to develop sustainable, self-sufficient communities. By leveraging creative talent, entrepreneurial spirit, and emerging technologies, we provide a platform that fosters local economic growth and collaboration.
Our approach is structured yet adaptable, designed to engage and unify people through a comprehensive community operating system. This system includes student-led initiatives in film, publishing, and business incubation, bridging the gap between education and real-world experience. Our model focuses on local marketing, content creation, and events to strengthen community identity, ensuring that small towns can compete in the global attention economy and retain their talent and resources.
At its core, Solarium Foundation believes that the foundation of society is the family unit. When families thrive, communities prosper. Our initiative seeks to re-center local economies around the people who live there, providing tools, training, and opportunities for creative and entrepreneurial development.
Our first phase of recruitment focuses on Missouri communities along Historic Route 66, starting with Kirkwood to Rolla and expanding east to St. Louis and west to Joplin in 2026 for the 100th anniversary of Route 66. Through strategic partnerships with schools, businesses, and civic leaders, we are building a scalable, replicable framework that can be applied to any community.
This is a movement to reclaim local potential, empower the next generation, and reshape the way communities function.
What We Do
Film Series & Storytelling:
We document the rich, untold stories of Missouri’s communities along Historic Route 66. Our documentary series features spotlight interviews, event coverage, and immersive narratives that connect the past to the present, inviting viewers to see their own communities through a new lens.
Community Events:
We organize art fairs, workshops, and local events that create immersive, experiential environments. These gatherings not only celebrate local talent but also serve as living examples of how collaborative creativity can transform communities.
Youth & Entrepreneurship Programs:
Recognizing that our youth are our most valuable resource, we engage local schools and student-led design teams in projects that blend art and business. Our programs provide hands-on experience in storytelling, marketing, and entrepreneurship, empowering young people to shape their own futures.
Local Economic Development:
We work with small businesses and community leaders to build stronger digital presences and brand identities. By helping local enterprises go online and tell their stories, we drive tangible economic outcomes—supporting growth, increasing tourism, and enhancing quality of life.
Why it Matters
In today’s world, our attention is pulled in countless directions by global trends and digital distractions. This often leaves our own communities underserved and disconnected from the resources they need to flourish. We believe true progress begins at home. By refocusing on hyper-local resources and strengthening the bonds between family units, local businesses, and creative talent, we can reverse that trend and build resilient communities.
Our approach is not about hype or flashy marketing—it’s a measured, deliberate effort to harness the innate power of local storytelling and creativity. It’s about building systems that are as authentic as they are effective, ensuring that every project, event, and initiative directly benefits the community it comes from.
